Modifying Contact Information and Passwords:

Pointing your domain to your web hosting provider
  1. Contact your web hosting provider and ask them for their Primary and Secondary DNS server names. This should be something like "NS1.THEIR-DOMAIN.COM" and "NS2.THEIR-DOMAIN.COM". They may also give you a set of numbers commonly known as an IP address for each of these names (255.255.255.255). These are not necessary when using our control panel, just the host names.
  2. Login to our Control Panel.

Please refer to  "I'm having problems logging in to the Control Panel" should you ever encounter any problems connecting to our server.
  3. Enter your domain name and password. Remember, your domain name does not include "www.". If you do not remember your password, please contact us.

  4. Click on the hyperlink entitled "NameServers".

  5. Change the "Use" option from "Our NameServers" to "Your Own NameServers".

  6. On the "Custom NameServers" section in Row 1), enter the Primary DNS Server name provided to you by your web hosting provider. Do the same for Row 2) using the Secondary DNS Server name. Rows 3 and 4 are for hosting companies that provide you with a 3rd and 4th DNS server. In most cases rows 3 and 4 should be left blank.

  7. Click on the "Modify" button to save your changes.

*Please note that any changes to your NameServer information may take up to 2 days before they take effect. The reason for this is that all other DNS servers throughout the world need time to update or propagate to the changes you make.

Please read our Control Panel FAQ for more commonly asked questions.

Common NameServer Problems
Q)I'm getting an error message that says "Errors modifying nameservers: Invalid attribute value". What does these mean?
A) The host name you provided is invalid or not in the shared worldwide DNS registry. More than likely the name you provided is either misspelled or you used an IP Address instead of an actual host name. Go back and check the spelling. Re-confirm with your web hosting provider that the DNS server name you have is correct. Do not use IP Address as a Host Name for a NameServer. If problems persist, please contact technical support.
Q) How long will it take for my changes to take effect?
A) Any changes to your NameServer information may take up to a 2 days before they take effect. The reason for this is that all other DNS servers throughout the world need time to update or propagate to the changes you made. If problems persists beyond 2 days, please contact technical support. Be sure to provide us with your domain name. You may also want to use our Live Help located to your left when available.
Q) Why have the changes I made just disappeared?
A) You probably forgot to save your modifications. Make certain to click on the "Modify" button to save any changes you've made.
