You
may log into our Control Panel by clicking on the link entitled
Control Panel Access from your left. After clicking on the link, a
new window should appear which looks like this:
If you're using AOL then the problem is more than
likely related to the security level associated with AOLs internal
browser. To overcome this problem try accessing our control panel
using another Internet browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator. Internet Explorer (IE) comes installed on virtually all
Windows computers. If the problem persists, please contact our technical
support department.
To take advantage
of our free services such as Email or URL Forwarding you must first
make sure that the NameServers for your domain are set to "Our
NameServers". By default all new registrations are set to use
"Our NameServers".
Next from the "Use" option
make sure that "Our NameServers" is selected.
Lastly, click on the
"Modify" button to save your changes then log out. The
next time you log back in you should see the options for Email and
URL Forwarding. Please note that Email and URL Forwarding are
usually unnecessary if your domain name is currently being hosted
by a web hosting provider. In most cases you will want to point
your primary domain's NameServers to the host nane provided by
your web hosting company. Click here to
get your hosting package.
Make
sure that you are not using any spaces and that you are typing in
your domain name correctly when prompted. Remember that the
"www." in front of a domain is not part of your domain.
Are you forgetting to include the .com or .net after your domain? If
nothing seems to work, please contact our tech by
emailing technical
support. Please don't forget to include the domain name you're
having problems with.
All passwords
should be stored in a safe place. In the event your password is
forgotten or misplaced, please visit our technical
support to have your password emailed to you.
Please note that for security
reasons, passwords will only be emailed to the current
administrative contact on file for your domain name.
Once a domain name has been registered
you should expect to wait from 24 to 48 hours before your domain
name becomes visible or active to everyone on the Internet. The
reason for this is that each ISP has what is know as DNS servers
(Domain Name Service). The job of each DNS server is to go out and
retrieve the latest information on what domains are registered and
where they point to. Normally every DNS server throughout the world
should retrieve this new information every four hours. Since many
ISPs don't follow this 4 hour rule, you can sometimes expect to wait
up to a couple of days.
Please note that Email or URL
Forwarding will not appear to work for you until "your"
ISPs DNS server has propagated.
This waiting period is know as
"DNS Propagation". Your friend using one ISP may get to
your domain while you, using another ISP may not. Just be patient as
we all have to go through it sometime.
