2. So what does .CY mean?
|

Two letter domains are most commonly associated with representing a country.
E.g. CY stands for and represents Cyprus.

3. What's required for a .CY registration?
|
|
In fact, any business or any one can apply for a .cy registration and the rules are that you get one .cy domain per person.
Requirements for individuals are that they need: identity card or passport.
Requirements for an organization are that they need: a copy of the registration certificate or a letter with the company or organization's trademark logo. This letter must be a letter asking for registration.
Nominee services can be used for registration when you do not meet the above requirements.

Enter the domain search page. Type in your desired domain name and click search. You can fill out a form if your searched name is available. You cannot register domain names of general meaning, which identify a group, an activity or a business sector.

6. Application Process Time
|
|
Your request will be processed after you have correctly filled in the form and sent it to us. Again this whole process can take well up to 7 days to be completed.

You can do this, all you have to do is change the DNS records, simple.

You won’t be charged to modify your DNS record. These prices are all included in the initial fee.

8. Syntax rules for .CY domains
|
|
These are the guidelines you must follow:
1) CHARACTER LIMIT
Your domain name has to be a minimum of 3 characters and the max is 63 characters long and this is without the CY category extension.
2) CHARACTER SET
Your domain name must contain Latin letters only ( a - z ), numbers ( 0 - 9 ) and hyphens ( - ) or a combination of these. Domain names are not case sensitive characters and no special characters can be used.
3) DOMAIN COMPOSITION
- Your domain name has to begin with an alphanumeric character, without a hyphen
- No spaces
- Not just numbers
- No hyphens on the 3rd and 4th positions of the second level domain name.
- Have a catchy domain name!
